The Blessings of Misfortune: Learn to Spin Straw Into Gold

Through the use of humor and shared experience, 54-year-old cancer survivor Christine Clifford Beckwith shares her stories of fear, uncertainty, hope and love with a presentation that embraces laughter, positive thinking, exercise and inspiration that we can be "healthy people living with adversity" as opposed to "adversity victims".

Throughout her poignant lecture, Christine explores:
  • how people feel when they face adversity and are undergoing change in their life
  • how to cope with day-to-day changes and feelings of fear and grief
  • how to talk about the problem with family, friends, caregivers, and employers
  • how to show love and support for the person who is facing adversity
Christine stresses the importance of traditional approaches and alternative approaches, coupled with a unique complimentary therapy: laughter.
